Elegant Vintage Brooch In Gold & Diamonds, ca. 1965
Did you know that in many traditional costumes of Germany it plays a significant role whether the ribbons of the robe are tied or untied? And if they are tied, where the bow is located? So says a Bavarian mnemonic: "Ribbon on the left, good luck!" Because if the apron of a dirndl is tied on the left side, the wearer is indicating that she is single. "Hooking up" is therefore permitted and desired here! If, on the other hand, the bow is tied on the right, the lady is married. But what does a bow worn in the middle mean? Tradition says that the wearer of a central bow is still a virgin. So you see that the motif of the bow is by no means trivial in the realm of fashions. It is similar with antique jewellery. Because here, too, things are rarely left to chance. The bow is one of the most eloquent motifs of attachment at all and can already be traced on Roman signet rings. This brooch from around 1965 shows the expressive elegance of the bow motif particularly well: the bow band, made of partly polished and partly satin-finished gold, is accentuated by a small band of white gold. In the center, three small brilliant-cut diamonds set white highlights. As a sign of solidarity, this brooch will probably once have been a gift of love in the years of the economic miracle. The brooch, which found its way to us from Hamburg, is beautifully preserved and a lovely eye-catcher to many outfits.

Rare happiness! Radiant white diamonds in a wide variety of cuts are offered by this brooch in the richest abundance and in the most perfect form: No
