In the wild Quails live in forests and woodland, and belong to the same bird family as the Pheasant although they are much smaller in size. There are thought to be more than 15 different species of quail around the world. Quail feed on seeds, leaves, berries and insects. Quail come in a range of colours which vary from browns, greys and whites, but some less common male species have vibrant reds and blues. The Quails eggs are little and are around the size of a plum tomato with a grey shell with speckles of black and brown and are said to be a delicacy. For more information on Quails see here.
