Sam Chang

lt;p>Samantha J. Chang is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Trial Department.  Ms. Chang represents companies and individuals in a variety of high-stakes matters, including complex commercial disputes and government investigations. Ms. Chang practices in both federal and state court and has experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including motion practice, fact and expert discovery, trial, and appeals. Ms. Chang also has experience defending clients in white-collar actions and conducting internal investigations. Ms. Chang maintains an active and dedicated pro bono practice, which focuses on criminal justice, civil rights, and immigration. She has successfully represented a detainee seeking asylum in an immigration appeal to the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has also successfully represented survivors of domestic violence in restraining order proceedings in Superior Court. Ms. Chang received her JD from Georgetown Law School. While in law school, she was notes development editor for the American Criminal Law Review and a member of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association. Ms. Chang previously served as a law clerk for Judge Jinsook Ohta of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
